Battaglia tra una mia TF antisub e un sommergibile jap: il PG Swan è stato silurato ed è subito affondato ma il sottomarino I-10 è stato colpito da 11 bombe di profondità. Non risulta ancora affondato però.

La situazione si sta facendo di giorno in giorno più calda.
Una TF alleata composta da 3 DD ha sbarcato rinforzi mentre una seconda TF composta solo da un DD è stato intercettato da un caccia nemico ed è stato gravemente danneggiato.

Inoltre da Lunga si sono alzati in volo 82 Betty in bombardamento contro le truppe a Ndini: sono bombardieri tolti dalla zona di Java e dall'Australia .
Per domani una mia TF con incrociatori deve bombardare l'isola mentre 30 bombardieri da Efate effettueranno una missione di attacco navale: sono state avvistate delle navi cargo in rotta verso Ndini, forse per portare rinforzi.

Ad oggi il conto dei caccia jap persi (zero, oscar e nate) ammonta a 1300: oltre 10 al giorno. Spero che questo tasso di perdite si faccia sentire presto nelle file avversarie.

Aleutine
Nuove battaglie aeree ad Adak dove un convoglio che trasportava un'unità del genio con supporto aereo stava sbarcando. Ho deciso di rafforzare il supporto aereo in questa base visti gli sviluppi degli ultimi giorni: sono molti gli apparecchi che non possono partecipare agli scontri perchè in riparazione.
Purtroppo una bomba ha colpito una delle mie AK ma i danni non sono critici: dovrebbe riuscire a sbarcare il resto delle truppe.

Adak
Il maltempo ha protetto lo sbarco di truppe e supplies nella base. Nei prossimi turni arriveranno altri cargo carichi di supplies e fuel, quindi prevedo altre battaglie aeree. Per fortuna con oltre 100 squadre di supporto aereo adesso il numero di aerei in riparazione calerà sensibilmente.

I jap nella notte hanno sbarcato sull'isola nuove truppe scortati da un CL e due DD. Un mio sottomarino ha cercato di intercattare il convoglio ma è stato lievemente danneggiato.

Per aumentare la pressione ho spostato su Espiritu Santu circa 50 bombardieri pesanti, una squadriglia di dauntless e due di caccia. A breve ne arriveranno altre due di bombardieri ed una di dauntless.
Il problema è che il raggio di azione dei caccia e bombardieri in picchiata non è sufficiente per arrivare a Ndini, quindi tutto il peso del blocco dell'isola sarà sulle spalle dei bombardieri a lungo raggio, delle PT e dei DD.
Vedremo come si svilupperà nei prossimi giorni: per ora i jap si stanno impegnando ed è questo l'obbiettivo di tutta l'azione.

Ma quante navi hai affondato?

 

Difficile dirlo: in media vedo nei report una nave cargo persa dai jap al giorno, alcuni giorni anche due.
Considera però che molte volte i nostri colpiscono navi già danneggiate in precedenza. Ho notato che in WITP le navi mercantili sono più toste da affondare rispetto ad AE, dove con un siluro può dire addio al cargo.

Duplice il vantaggio:

1. momentaneamente i jap non hanno una base per rifornirsi in Australia anche se Broome dovrebbe cadere tra poco.
2. Conquistando la base abbiamo distrutto al suolo 30 Oscar che forse i jap non sono riusciti a spostare in tempo. Inoltre ben 9 navi mercantili nemiche si sono autoaffondate nel porto per evitare la cattura!

Nel resto della giornata i nostri bombardieri hanno continuato a martelare le navi in fuga da Derby. Altre due AK risultano affondate!

Ho deciso di iniziare le operazioni logistiche per creare un diversivo anche il questa regione visto che i jap purtroppo non colpiscono più le navi ad Adak (il rapporto di aerei persi era molto favorevole a noi). Nei prossimi turni descriverò i dettagli dell'operazione che dovrebbe aver luogo non prima di 10 turni.
Visto che non ho portaerei in zona la copertura aerea sarà fornita solo dagli aerei basati a terra.

COMANDO USA

Riassunt di quello che è successo nei tre turni.

Burma
Gli inglesi hanno conquistato Myitkyina ma le truppe jap non si sono ancora arrese. Attualmente ci sono ancora 18.000 japs intrappolati a corto di supplies per un totale di 320 AV. Gli inglesi hanno oltre 1000 AV e nell'ultimo scontro gli odds erano saliti a 14:1 per noi.
Il vero problema è Rangoon, dove sono intrappolati 52.000 inglesi: non penso potranno resistere a lungo e non vedo soluzioni a breve termine.


Australia
A Derby i jap rimasti senza supporto logistoco sono quasi 40.000, per un totale di 720 AV. Nell'ultimo turno hanno cercato di riprendersi la base ma per fortuna la manovra non ha funzionato.

Ndini
Sia io che i jap stiamo rinforzando alla spicciolata l'isola con nuove truppe: i supplies cominciano ad essere un problema visto che sull'isola adesso ci sono oltre 3000 uomini per un totale di 180 AV. Nei prossimi turni sbarcherò con i DD supplies anzichè nuove truppe. I jap hanno circa 110 AV.
La situazione è di stallo: i jap non sembrano intenzionati ad impegnare la loro flotta e martellano la testa di ponte dal cielo e di conseguenza io non impegno le CV che rimangono non individuate nelle retrovie.
Nei prossimi turni valuterò il da farsi: se riterrò in pericolo la testa di ponte impegnerò un paio di divisioni (una americana ed una australiana) per conquistare l'isola definitivamente. L'isola, che ha ora un aeroporto di livello 1, può essere un buon punto di appoggio per i caccia, in previsione di una campagna contro Guadacanal portando, l'aeroporto a livello 3.

Baker Island
Con bombardieri a lungo raggio ho colpito l'aeroporto di Baker. Ho perso un B-25C contro due aerei jap da ricognizione distrutti al suolo. Era una missione per confondere le idee ai nostri nemici.

Derby
Una flotta mercantile nemica è giunta nel porto, credo per reimbarcare ancora una volta il contingente jap: abbiamo messo in allarme tutti gli aerei disponibili mentre da terra i nostri eseguiranno uno shock attack ogni giorno per uccidere quanti più jap possibili.

Sono arrivate molte navi minori jap (PC e PG), almeno una 20ina, forse per portare supplies. I miei aerei ne hanno colpita solo una perchè molti bombardieri erano in missione Ground Attack sull'isola: domani tenterò di mettere a segno più bombe.

Come temevamo, i Jap hanno cominciato l'evacuazione delle truppe: ad ogni modo nessun caccia Zero si è presentato nei cieli per coprire questa delicata operazione (forse le perdite fino ad oggi si fanno sentire) e le aviazioni anglo-americane hanno fatto un buon lavoro anche se ancora nessuna nave risulta affondata.
