Oggi i bombardieri nemici hanno colpito duro la pista aerea di Singapore. Io avevo concesso ai miei buffalo un turno di riposo ed il risultato è stato quello di vederne distrutti al suolo ben 8! Compensati però da 9 bombardieri jap persi a causa della flak e delle perdite di logorio.
Sono state colpite ed affondate anche due piccoli trasporti truppe che stavano entrando in porto per cercare di salvare elementi dell'11^ divisione indiana, operazione fallita in partenza.

La Saratoga ha eseguito l'attacco a sorpresa ma è stato un attacco a vuoto: l'aeroporto di Roi-Namur è risultato vuoto mentre non è stato avvistate in zona naviglio per un attacco navale.
Darò ordine alla Saratoga di tornare indietro prima che Mazzocco mandi da Truk i suoi Betty e Zero.

Sud Pacifico
I jap sono sbarcati a sorpresa a Koumac, anche la Nuova Caledonia cadrà presto visto che non è stata ancora rinforzata.
Devo dire che Mazzocco sta espandendosi molto in questa direzione e non credo farò in tempo a portare nelle Fiji sufficienti rifornimenti.
Da Los Angeles è partita da poco la Yorktown e la 40^ divisione di fanteria: deciderò la sua destinazione nei prossimi turni.

 

Prima di chiudere il turno ho analizzato la situazione: il sud Pacifico manca di tutto AV/supplies/fuel/piste aeree.
Ho quindi varato un programma di potenziamento delle seguenti basi: Suva, Pago Pago e Christmas Island che formeranno una specie di pista fortificata per contrastare l'espandersi dei jap verso la Nuova Zelanda.
Sto concentrando verso la costa USA tutti i cargo disponibili (circa un centinaio partiti da circa 10 giorni da Nuova Zelanda e Australia). Le tempistiche sono molto lunghe e i mezzi da imbarcare ancora pochi ma non posso permettere a Mazzocco di andare oltre la Nuova Caledonia: l'Australia non è stata svuotata di truppe quindi conto di resistere ad un'invasione nel sud (dove ci sono le basi importanti) ed è rifornita da Cape Town per quanto possibile di fuel e supplies.
Altro punto dolente è l'esperienza dei miei piloti: anche dove ho qualche squadriglia armata di aerei decenti l'exp dei suoi piloti è ancora insufficiente per essere impiegata i battaglia. Il maggior numero di piloti è in training ma l'esperienza sale molto lentamente. Penso che ci vorranno ancora due mesi prima di avere qualche pilota decente nella specialità Naval Attack.

 

Ma Christmas Island non è sotto a P.H.?

 

Molto a sud, però può diventare un buon hub con il suo aeroporto di livello 4 che posso portare a 7 investendo risorse.
Considerando Chr. Is., Pago e Suva avrei una linea continua di basi dove collocare i bombardieri a lungo raggio per un mutuo supporto.

Purtroppo ho fatto un errore di valutazione ed ho provato un attacco alle truppe jap assedianti Clark Field. Purtroppo i jap hanno ricevuto 400 AV proprio in questo turno e il mio attacco si è rivelato un massacro : ora ritirerò le truppe a Bataan per un'ultima resistenza sperando che recuperino in efficienza visto che gli AV sono scesi a 700! I forts a Bataan sono a livello 3 e i supplies circa 35k.

Strategia Cina

In Cina sto provando due manovre accerchianti.

La prima più importante a Changsha, dove la 1^ Armata Giapponese sta cercando di ritirarsi dalla città. Ho notato che solo nel lato ovest il confine è ancora in mano jap quindi sto in tutta fretta facendo entrare da ovest una mia unità sperando che così l'intero esagono sia alleato e non permetta ai jap all'interno di sfuggire. Spero che il trucco riesca.
Nel frattempo altri 2000AV stanno marciando a sud della città verso nord ovest per non far soccorrere la 1^ Armata dall'esterno se il mio tentativo avrà buon esito.
In città il rapporto di AV è di 2:1 in favore dei cinesi ma se l'accerchiamento funzionasse conto di sfiaccare i jap con bombardamenti da terra e dal cielo fino a fargli esaurire i loro rifornimenti. Nel cielo l'AVG fornirà copertura aerea.

A nord sto cercando invece di accerchiare la città di Sinyang. Qui non ho forze sufficienti sia per conquistare che per mantenere l'assedio ma se Mazzocco fosse costretto a ritirare parte delle truppe verso Changsha forse avrei qualche possibilità.

Credo che il prossimo turno sia decisivo per capire se ho qualche speranza di mettere in difficoltà i jap nella Cina Centrale.

Continuano i bombardamenti nemici sull'aeroporto, i pochi caccia presenti fanno il possibile ma la parte del leone la fa la contraerea che abbatte diversi bombardieri nemici.

La TF australiana composta dal CA Australia e CL Perth si è ritrovata a dover affrontare un attaccoaereo codotto da almeno una CV.
Le unità si sono difese bene abbattendo due apparecchi nemici ma hanno avuto la peggio: nel prossimo turno proveranno a fuggire verso Suva ma non nutro troppe speranze.
Non ho altre forze in zona ne voglio ingaggiar battaglia con le CV americane: la linea di difesa saranno le Fiji che attualmente sono in attesa di rinforzi e rifornimenti.

Giorno pieno di scontri oggi, ma l'evento più importante è che i jap sono riusciti ad uscire dalla città di Changsha. Non ho fatto in tempo ad intrappolarli come speravo.

Adesso tutta l'area è a rischio conquista. Mi trovo di fronte una forte armata nemica e sono in netta inferiorita in mezzi e uomini, credo che mi rimanga solo l'opzione di una onorevole ritirata .

Difendersi a Chengchow non è contemplabile per me, in pianura contro i suoi carri non puoi niente, rischi di pagarla pesantemente questa sconfitta. Devi provare a fermarlo prima di Sian; se arriva fino in città o hai 2.000 AV da opporgli sperando che non ti circondi o io non proverei neanche a difenderla ma è meglio una disonorevole ritirata
