    Cohi ha rallentato l'invio dei turni, così anche l'AAR ne risente.
    Da dire vi è anche che, nonostante tutto ciò che bolle in pentola lato alleati, siamo ancora alla fase di riorganizzazione prima del grande salto.
    Le forze aeronavali di stanza a Truk stanno ricevendo da tutto il pacifico i migliori piloti e le squadriglie imbarcate si stanno addestrando sistematicamente e in modo massiccio per il tipo di missioni nelle quali verranno impiegate in battaglia e qui chiedo @blizzard dritte sui settings dei trainings delle squadriglie:

    posto che i DB e i TB con compiti offensivi saranno settati con altitudine 17K (è una buona quota? farei così per non farli avvicinare al nemico con quote troppo basse, rendendo praticamente inutili i caccia di scorta).

    - caccia che verranno impiegati nelle scorte ai bombardieri mission "training" 90%, quota 17.000 range 1 (per differenziarli da quelli che saranno utilizzati in CAP (ovviamente il range verrà settato uguale a quello dei bombardieri nelle missioni di guerra)
    - caccia della CAP mission "training" 90%, quote variabili tra 10 e 20K range 0 (ovviamente le quote verranno mantenute anche quando si tratterà di missioni operative)

    - DB e TB mission "training" 90%, Nav Attk, quota 17.000 range 1 (che verrà allungato al range corretto - e qual'è?? -) nelle missioni di guerra.

    Alcune squadriglie di TB, che hanno bassi valori di Nav skill e che verranno impiegate a range esteso (con i serbatoi supplementari) per aumentare la recon, sono in training mission 90% "recon", altitudine 10000 range 2, per incrementare questo skill dei piloti.

    L'offensiva di terra inglese è di nuovo impantanata e le poche vie di comunicazione che portano verso il centro della Thailandia, oltre ad essere ben presidiate dalle truppe giapponesi, sono un imbuto attraverso il quale passano pochissimi rifornimenti.


    Manado, Filippine

    Proprio non si riesce a fare arrivare rifornimenti alle truppe americane che assediano Davao e lo stallo che ne consegue irrita non poco McArthur, che deve continuamente posticipare l'attacco alla città, il cui porto, come già detto molte volte, sarebbe di importanza vitale per il proseguio dell'offensiva.
    L'aviazione alleata continua il martellamento di porto e aereoporto, costringendo i giapponesi ad un salasso di supplies, ma dato il livello di fortificazioni, le truppe a difesa della città, dall'alto non vengono minimamente scalfite.
    L'assedio durerà ancora a lungo.

    se i db attaccano da 17000 mi sa che non fanno dive bmb ma level. invece i tb si abbassano automaticamente per l'attacco con i siluri, il range non deve essere extended sennò usano le bombe, i db in extended invece usano bombe più piccole.
    se metti i tb in training naval a 17000 non credo si allenino per il torpedo bmb. credo tu debba metterli in training a 1000.
    se metti range 1 per il training credo che la fatica salga un po'.

    Grazie duetto! Ma i db, al pari dei tb non dovrebbero abbassarsi in automatico per raggiungere la quota corretta per il bombardamento in picchiata (che è quello giusto per il nav attk)? La quota settata dovrebbe essere solo quella utilizzata in avvicinamento all'obiettivo. Sbaglio?

    no perchè i db possono sganciare le loro bombe anche da 17000 in level bombing. non ti confondere, naval attack vuol dire che gli stai dicendo di attaccare la navi e basta, non gli stai dicendo che tipo di bombardamento fare. per decidere che tipo di bombardamento vuoi (level ,dive, glide) devi agire sulla quota. tant'è che se setti 15000 e ground bombing ti fanno dive bomb sulla terra: sono due cose separate. non so se mi sono spiegato bene.
    mentre i tb (equipaggiati con siluri, scritta torpedoes in verde, okkio) devono per forza abbassarsi non potendo sganciare i siluri da 17000 e quindi il gioco lo fa in auto.

    Ho letto il post in cui viene definita la quota corretta per i DB se si vuole che effettuino bombardamenti in picchiata (10.000 - 15.000 ft), per cui risetterò le quote d'attacco e di addestramento (e relativa scorta dei caccia) a 15.000.

    stai molto attento con le quote: puoi mandare a p.. un'intera battaglia navale sbagliando i settaggi, come era successo a ciotto nella famosa battaglia dello stretto di Torres nel ns aar: da quella che doveva essere una batosta per l'alleato , a causa del suo errore nell'impostare le quote, è venuta fuori una strabiliante e inaspettata vittoria che ha spinto l'impero in ginocchio a supplicare la pace

    Non sono blizzard, però io la gestisco così:
    - range sempre zero quando in training
    - la quota conta relativamente, nel senso che per i caccia da 2000 piedi in su va sempre bene, indipendentemente da quella che poi avranno in combattimento; sotto no perchè altrimenti si allenano in strafing
    - stessa cosa per LB, a 1000 si allenano in LowGround, sopra in ground Bomb
    - per i DB quote tra i 10 ed i 15

    Si, hai ragione, l'idea mia è soltanto quella di mettere in training gli equipaggi per le missioni che andranno poi effettivamente a compiere.
    Secondariamente i settings un po' differenziati del training, mi aiuteranno quando dovrò assegnare le missioni in combattimento, ad esempio so che una squadriglia di caccia che si addestra a range 0 sarà da mettere in CAP, mentre una che è in "escort" a 15000 range 1 sarà destinata alla scorta dei bombardieri.

    A proposito, a che range imposto i DB e TB in nav attk perchè volino a pieno carico bellico?

    Per viaggiare a pieno carico i DB e TB devono essere in raggio normale. Considera che il raggio normale può venire aumentato grazie ai serbatoio supplementari, senza far diminuire il carico.
    Se dalla schermata della squadriglia clicchi su "Aircraft data" puoi vedere il "Default load" ed il "Reduced load", che rappresenta l'armamento in caso di rispettivamente raggio normale o esteso.

    A sud, in direzione di Bangkok, dove la 6 divisione australiana riesce ad oltrepassare il fiume Chao Phraya a Nord della cittadina di Ayuthia e il grosso delle forze del XXXIII corpo indiano insegue i giapponesi in ritirata 80 miglia a NO della capitale.

    Di particolare rilievo la testa di ponte della 6^ australiana che, se riuscisse a mantenere la posizione raggiunta troncherebbe, di fatto, il traffico ferroviario tra il Chiang Mai/Rahaeng e Bankok, intrappolando i presidi del nord dell'area.

    La situazione dei rifornimenti che arrivano scarsissimi alla truppe alleate che accerchiano Davao è veramente pesante. I giapponesi sembrano averne, invece, a profusione e non vi è cenno alcuno di cedimento.

    Da notare il livello scarso di rifornimenti nell'esagono, mentre tra Cotabato e Cagayan ce ne sono circa 200.000 tonnellate.
    Non riesco a capire come mai non ne arrivino ... Nell'esagono c'è il comando del XXIV corpo USA e da Manado è in piedi un ponte aereo che scarica rifornimenti a manetta eppure siamo a questi livelli da settimane ...

    A Cagayan, dove il reggimento Filippino era di stanza, viene caricato il resto della forza e probabilmente verrà sbarcato domani. Una volta riorganizzato, dovrà cercare di sloggiare i giapponesi della guarnigione.

    Nei giorni precedenti sull'isola era sbarcato il 102 reggimento del genio USA e Una TF anfibia aveva trasportato (senza scaricarlo) il comando del III corpo anfibio USA del generale R. Geiger, in modo che appoggiasse l'assalto delle forze di terra previsto nella giornata odierna.
    L'esito è assolutamente deludente, tanto che ogni tipo di velleità offensiva verrà interrotta fino all'arrivo di un secondo reggimento di genio da combattimento (il 131° attualmente di stanza ad Hollandia - Nuova Guinea-) e che il comando di Geiger verrà sbarcato sull'isola.

    Ora di questa posizione bisogna assolutamente mantenere il controllo, visto che una forza stimata tra le 4-5 divisioni giapponesi (oltre che un gran numero di unità di supporto) rimane intrappolata nel bord della Thailandia senza nè rifornimenti, nè la possibilità di utilizzare la linea ferroviaria per ritirarsi.

    Viene comunque mantenuta una forte pressione verso la capitale Bangkok.

    Prende piede il piano di attaccare su due fronti distinti le linee di trasporto strategiche giapponesi, utilizzando, da una parte le portaerei di prima classe e veloci (16 CV e 9 CVL) e dall'altra la gran parte delle CVE.

    Vengono così creati 4 gruppi da battaglia composti ognuno da 4CV, 2CVL (in uno ve ne sono 3) e relative scorte che avranno il compito di navigare da Truk in profondità a N, verso un punto tra Iwo Jima e Okinawa, con lo scopo di impegnare la KB avversaria, tenendola agganciata, mentre 24 CVE iniziano il loro viaggio verso la base di Kendari (ove in rada ve ne sono 9) a Celebes, da dove dovranno partire per puntate sempre più frequenti e profonde nel mar cinese meridionale.

    A Truk rimangono 7 CVE che imbarcano sole squadriglie di caccia Hellcat, che verranno impiegate in futuro per dare copertura alle TF anfibie con obiettivo Okinawa.

    Sono un po' indeciso, in effetti. Da un lato sento che il tempo stringe, dall'altro vorrei riuscire a togliere di mezzo la KB, che è una vera e propria spina nel fianco.
    Penso comunque non prima di aprile del 45, ormai.

    Una considerazione sull'impiego di CV e CVL.

    Ho fatto un lavoro da dannati per impiegare sulle squadriglie imbarcate sulle portaerei da battaglia i migliori piloti della marina, sia quelli da caccia che quelli dei bombardieri. Ora sono tutti settati in training 90% sugli specifici skill che dovranno utilizzare in battaglia, come visto in qualche post precedente.
    La suddivisione dell'intera forza aeronavale in 4 gruppi da 4CV (più 2 CVL- 3 in un caso -), settati in follow, prende spunto dal fatto che così si dovrebbero minimizzare (in teoria) eventi fortuiti e dannosi tipo lo scontro tra vascelli e oltre tutto ogni gruppo, se con un buon comandante (e ho selezionato i migliori con alto valore sia di nav che di air), dovrebbe avere migliore manovrabilità.
    A questo punto ho pensato che ogni gruppo, in cui sono mediamente presenti 4 squadriglie di caccia, dovesse provvedere con il 50% della forza alla propria CAP (due squadriglie con % variabile, in aumento in zone con pericolo di contatto nemico, quote 10.000 una e 15.000 l'altra, range 0) e per il rimanente 50% alla copertura dei bombardieri (2 squadriglie, quota 15.000 stesso range dei bombardieri - 6 esagoni-)
    Tutti i bombardieri di tutte le TF e i gruppi di hellcat non impegnati in CAP, sono settati alla stessa quota e range, per cercare di far massa critica in fase offensiva.
    Secondo voi può essere un ragionamento valido?
    Tenuto conto poi che i CLAA sono carenti e ne posso schierare uno solo per ogni gruppo (+ 1 CA e 2 CL, il resto DD), secondo voi può bastare?
    Detto che le BB di nuova generazione sono più lente delle portaerei (28 nodi contro 29 della Wasp, la CV più lenta), ne mettereste comunque almeno una nelle air TF a scapito di una minore velocità?

    Mi sembrano ok le impostazioni che hai citato; se posti le immagini delle squadriglie (ne basta una per tipo di aereo, salvo due per i caccia: escort e cap) e la composizione delle flotte verifichiamo che non sia sfuggito qualcosa.

    Le flotte falle di 15 navi che è il limite per assicurarsi di non avere collisioni.
    Assolutamente metti una BB in ogni air TF anche se magari rallenta di poco la flotta; le BB sono zeppe di AA e servono a fermare eventuali aerei che sfuggono alla CAP.
    In ogni AirTF metti le 6 CV/CVL , 8 DD (classe Fletcher se disponibili), una BB e due incrociatori
    Assicurati di mettere nelle airTF le navi per ogni tipo che hanno maggiore capacità AA.

    Con l'ultimo turno ho fatto uscire le air TF dalla rada di Truk, velocità di crociera, destinazione un tratto di mare tra Okinawa e Iwo Jima.
    Ho fatto uscire tutti i piloti dal Training e li ho settati in missioni da battaglia, quindi questo pomeriggio, quando ritorno a casa vedo di fare un riepilogo, con posts di snapshot delle squadriglie.

    Prima che entrino in acque nemiche ho un po' di tempo per rivedere i settings e comunque, come dicevo, seguirò giorno per giorno i caccia in CAP, per aumentarne la percentuale.

    Edit: ogni TF ha una BB di nuova generazione (28 N velocità), ma vorrei rivedere la composizione navale (principalmente per l'AA, fattore a cui non faccio mai caso, fidandomi ovviamente troppo della CAP). Se dovessero essere male assortite, ci metto poco a richiamarle a Truk.

    Nella schermata della TF di dice quanta AA (e non solo) ha complessivamente, ti può essere utile per bilanciare le navi.
