[AAR] À la guerre comme à la guerre - Linus (J) vs ste_peterpan (A)

Non credo sia il massimo come resa l'invio di una TF con missione "bombardamento" se vuoi ingaggiare navi nemiche.
O forse ho capito male io e ti interessa più bombardare il porto...

 

Purtroppo ho da fare così. Se invio una TF da combattimento, quella va nell'hex di Karachi e si becca le mine a difesa del porto e ingaggia le batterie costiere in modo stupido. Con missione di bombardamento, arriva, ingaggia le navi nemiche e poi bombarda ma tenendosi fuori portata delle mine.

Verissimo che è molto peggio la TF da bombardamento, ma Alleato ha solo xAP, TK e xAK a Karachi e quindi non mi aspetto grande resistenza.

Il bombardamento è uno stratagemma per evitare (si spera) il grosso delle mine e dei cannoni costieri. Se poi ci scappa qualche a/c danneggiato al suolo... pure meglio.

In realtà spero finiscano le ammo contro le TF e si ritirino così da avere qualche punto ops in più per fuggire lontano dai perfidi aerei della RAF basati a Karachi.

Brutto turno...

1) Teatro Perimetro Interno

Nulla di nuovo. Do ordine alla terza CS di convertirsi in CVL a Tokio. Prendera' quasi un anno la suddetta conversione ahime'.
La decina di DD provenienti da Truk finalmente arriva a Tokio e in una settimana dovrebbero essere di nuovo disponibili e riparati.

Scopro conn sommo disgusto che la 116ma Divisione di Fanteria che presidia Ketoi-Jima e' preparata 100/100 per... Chungking. Affanculo.


2) Teatro Pacifico Sud-Occidentale

Altro attacco dei perfidi sub alleati fra Truk e Rabaul. Per fortuna la PB di scorta si comporta bene e riesce ad evitare siluramenti.

In compenso i movimenti navali di Alleato sono molto, molto preoccupanti. C'e' infatti un raggruppamento di navi gigante a Noumea, CV incluse. E' evidente che dopo averla sfangata a Rabaul, ho da gestire un altro sbarco molto presto.
Spero fortemente che voglia semplicemente sbarcare a Ndeni, dot in mani alleate dal 7 Dicembre '41 ma, appunto, dot. In linea di principio non sarebbe per Alleato un'idea malvagia dato che sbarcare a Guadalcanal adesso col supporto logistico piu' vicino incentrato su Luganville non e' cosa salubre.
Sono abbastanza perplesso e sto valutando una sortita in massa della 1a Kido Butai facendo arrivare in full speed la dolce Taiho varata poco tempo fa. Ho bisogno di ancora un paio di mesi nella zona.


3) Teatro DEI

Disastro. La 3a Divisione Tank attacca a SUD di Katherine e incontra una resistenza feroce di Alleato che evidentemente ha portato cospicui rinforzi nella zona:

Inutile dire che adesso faccio armi e bagagli e mi ritiro. Se riesco ad evitare la distruzione totale della divisione, la mando indietro e mi metto in posizione difensiva dietro il fiume a NORD di Katherine conn le due divisioni di fanteria nell'area.

Molto male.

In compenso, cosa buona, le truppe alleate nell'area sono in un settore dove la situazione non rischia piu' di diventare esplosiva e quindi sono sostanzialmente inutili. Conto inoltre di portare cospicui numeri di AA dall'India molto presto.


La 2a Kido Butai sta navigando giuliva verso Batavia dove fara' refuel per poi continuare verso l'India. Il CL e il DD distaccati per finire il convoglio mercantile danneggiato ieri non intercettano le navi, ma pace.


4) Teatro Indo-Birmano

Fallimento generale.
La TF di CL e DD non si muove di una sega perche' fa refuel prima di lasciare Surat e consuma un fracco di ops. Fa 6-7 hex e si ferma, accidenti a lei.
Non solo, le centinaia di a/c che dovevano sweeppare e bombardare Karachi se ne stanno belli belli a terra causa temporali dovunque.

In compenso i sub a NORD di Karachi hanno i loro bei momenti e affondano un xAKL conn un siluro, un altro xAKL a cannonate e una TK, pure, si becca un siluro (credo lei sia scampata).

Proseguo la distribuzione di truppe per l'assalto finále. La situazione e' orrenda visto che a Karachi le LCU sono diventate oggi 20 noc un incremento gigante in fatto di veicoli e cannoni. Molto male. Sto valutando di lasciar perdere.

Le perdite sono elevate per entrambi ma conto di poter vincere nel medio periodo facendo fra l'altro ritirare i porci a Tienshui, inutile dot ancora in mano cinese.
L'idea e' di accerchiare e massacrare le circa 20 LCU a disposizione del cinese nell'area cosi da liberare truppe da dedicare ad altri piu importanti compiti.

Presto inizio a lavorarmi i simpaticoni anche col supporto dei bombardieri ancora in Cina.

Per il resto nessuna nuova. Chungking se ne sta bella bella coi suoi 13,100AV e non ci sono visibili segni di cedimento nel conteggio totale. Le LCU dentro la citta' continuano a crescere, gli AV sono in leggero calo. In due mesi di bombardamenti son riuscito perlomeno a tenere gli AV costanti nonostante siano 'nate' dentro la citta' circa 50 LCU cinesi.


Conto di spedire i bombardieri adesso a Rabaul nuovamente in Cina molto presto.

Alleato tenta anche di attaccare la TF di CL e DD che ha ingaggiato le sue navi ma una provvidenziale LRCAP di Zero respinge i Beaufighter inglesi abbattendoli tutti quanti.

Le perdite a fine giornata sono di 110 apparecchi nipponici contro i 60 alleati.


In tutta questa follia, identifico 5 LCU americane decisamente corpose in marcia verso Ahmedabad. Ci sta pero' vogliano attaccare il mio AF da cui lancio gli attacchi su Karachi. AF che posso rifocillare solo via nave attraverso lo stretto di mare fra esso e Surat: andando via terra attiverei i rinforzi di emergenza.
Ho una Ind.MixedBrigade da 120AV e forts lvl 5, quindi conto di poter opporre una buona resistenza in caso Alleato decida davvero di attaccare li.

Karachi stessa vede un aumento spropositato di truppe. Siamo a oltre 1,000 guns e 600 vehicles. Non ho idea di come fermare l'escalation.


Oggi 10xBB e TF varie di CL e DD lasciano Celyon e si avviano verso Bombay. Da li inizieranno a martellare Karachi.

Ho idea che l'unica possibilità per azzerare Karachi siano i grossi calibri delle corazzate, occhio però, porta anche le dragamine!

 

Si ho da radere al suolo tutto con le BB. C'è anche da dire che Alleato questo tasso di perdite non lo regge per più di 3-4 giorni mentre io ho le spalle larghe: ho circa 500 Fighter per soggiogare Karachi.

Appena BB e CA sono arrivati inizio a brasare la città e avanzo con le truppe di terra.

Il grosso guaio è che la 2a KB è a circa 10 giorni di navigazione. Se tutto va bene.
E io invece ho da iniziare l'offensiva al più presto.

Altro fattore determinante è che l'apertura è su Socotra ma non ho le navi da trasporto per lo sbarco ora come ora: ho ancora 3 divisioni e rotte da portar via da Celyon.

Se hai ancora 500 caccia da lanciare, puoi fare quello che vuoi... Se io fossi alleato però lascerei le CV nell'area, occhio alla 2a KB (a meno che tu sappia che sono in zona Australia).

 

Ah figurati ne ho anche di più di caccia volendo. Quasi tutti Oscar-IIa ma anche una novantina di Zero. Oltre che Tojo e Tony random (ma non hanno range per arrivare a Karachi).


Le CV USA sono a Noumea. O almeno c'erano due giorni fa in bella vista.

Aleato ha sicuramente sia CVE che qualche (1 o 2) CV inglese però.

La 2a KB mi serve fondamentalmente per sopprimere Socotra ed ha una rispettabile forza di circa 270 a/c. Piloti al top (molto molto meglio che la 1a KB iniziale).


Alleato ha ancora una 70ina di Fighter a Karachi. Non so cosa ci sia a Socotra ma non credo niente di traumatico.

1) Teatro Perimetro Interno

Sbarco 3 Divisioni in Hokkaidó provenienti da Onshu. Sono divisioni leggere Type-C veterane del fronte cinese che hanno gustato qualche mese di riposo a Nagasaki. Saranno presto ridispiegate in varie posizioni chiave nella zona.

La prima TF salpa da Kure con le truppe destinate a difendere Marcus Island. Inshallah.


2) Teatro Pacifico Sud-Occidentale

Si parte con un mio sub che pianta tre siluri in una AP a NORD di PH. Poi scopro con sgomento che le CV americane e una TF apparentemente di trasporti e' in movimento verso EST da Noumea in direzione Figi. Sono a un paio di turni di navigazione da Suva, sperando sia quella la destinazione… Perplesso, invio una quindicina di sub a proteggere le Gilbert Meridionali e a provare a intercettare le TF nemiche.
Spero proprio non ci siano alzate di ignegno da parte di Alleato nell'area dato che avevo previsto un attacco non prima di Giugno '43 e sono ancora deboluccio.

La 1a Kido Butai e' pero' a Truk pronta ad azioni di retroguardia se necessario. Spero di no visto che manco di navi di scorta (pochi DD) e di AO. Oltre che avere una situazione fuel abbastanza precaria.

Le Gilbert Meridionali sono ancora decisamente sguarnite purtroppo e non ho modo di rafforzarle rapidamente.


L'emergenza supplies vissuta negli ultimi dieci giorni e' praticamente rientrata e Rabaul galleggia su un bel 50k. Altrettante supplies sono in arrivo in un 3-4 giorni. Il resto delle basi sono abbastanza rifornite.


Continuo a muovere piccoli gruppi di truppe per limare il mio schieramento. Oggi una parte di una Ind.MixedBrigade lascia Rabaul a bordo di due CL per andare nelle Shortlands, nuova posizione assegnata ai ragazzi.


3) Teatro DEI

Nulla di nuovo. Alleato bombarda le mie truppe a NORD di Katherine mentre cerco di ripiegare ordinatamente. Alcune navi stanno navigando verso Darwin per prelevare la 64th Brigade e la Brigata della Guardia cosi da schiaffarle a Singapore in rest e farle riprendere.

In compenso, con una decisione forse demenziale, decido di trasferire la CVE e la CS danneggiate a OVEST di Perth da Soerabaja a Singapore. Sono abbastanza malridotte in termini di engine e systém damage ma le falle sono moderate (10 a entrambe, tutti e 10 i punti major). L'idea e' che a Singapore possano essere riparate in velocita' mentre a Soerabaja ne avrebbero per circa 2-3 mesi.

4) Teatro Indo-Birmano

Scopro conn sommo dolore e sgomento che Alleato non solo ha un fracco di truppe a Karachi (piu' di quante la recon mi avesse detto finora), ma che sta rafforzando anche Socotra, isola chiave per l'offensiva finále sull'India.
Al dramma si aggiunge dramma: sono americani.

Il grandissimo vantaggio della situazione pero' e' che la RAF e' oramai stata massacrata (restano meno di 30 fighter a difendere Karachi) e che gli americani impegnati nell'area subiranno un attrito non indifferente, cosa che in termini di rimpiazzi puo' darmi vantaggi in altri teatri come quello del Pacifico.

I miei sweep su Karachi portati avanti da circa 250 Oscar-IIa non incontrano grande resistenza e abbatto un paio di P40 al prezzo di altrettanti caccia imperiali.
In compenso ieri avevo individuato un movimento sospetto di tank in movimento verso Ahmedabad. Avendo deciso per una pausa nei bombardamenti su Karachi per dare respiro ai miei bimotori, avevo ordinato un bombardamento dei poveri diavoli che vengono infatti duramente colpiti:

Ben 82 veicoli alleati vengono danneggiati (71) o distrutti (11). Non sembrano numeri importanti ma danno l'idea dell'attrito cui saranno sottoposti gli americani nella campagna di Karachi.


Fra un paio di giorni dovrei avere le BB a Bombay e domani arrivano, a dio piacendo, i primi CA. Poi si parte coi bombardamenti navali che spero essere decisivi nel piegare le difese alleate a Socotra e Karachi. Una volta devastati i porti e gli AF, Alleato si trovera' impossibilitato a spedire rinforzi o evacuare le truppe.

La resistenza cinese pare affievolirsi e domani reitero gli assalti. Il supporto aereo dei pochi Sally ancora in Cina e' fondamentale.


Continuo anche a sbarcare le ART provenienti dall'India a Hong Kong: prendera' ancora diversi giorni perche', nonostante il porto abbia un livello piu' che rispettabile, non c'e' naval support e le ART indiane sono artiglierie d'assedio quindi si tratta perlopiu' di device grossi e lenti da scaricare. Poco male, la seconda TF delle tre che trasportano l'ART in Cina ha fatto oggi il refuel a Singapore e arrivera' fra molti giorni.

1) Teatro Perimetro Interno

Non succede nulla di importante. La CV Taiho, dopo aver atteso a lungo che i DD di scorta fossero riparati, salpa dalla Baia di Tokio diretta Truk dove si unira' al resto della Kido Butai.

Convogli vari si muovono e, in particolare, spedisco 55k supplies da Onshu a Hokkaidó. Conto di spedire un altro paio di convogli simili in Hokkaidó per avere un discreto stock disponibile nell'area casomai Alleato facesse manovre strane. Ogni giorno cala la possibilita' che gli alleati scelgano di passare per le Kurili comunque. Sempre in Hokkaidó continua lo sbarco di diverse Divisioni provenienti da Onshu.

A Fusan si imbarcano due reparti di garrison che avevo sbloccato nei giorni scorsi. Roba leggera ma che sara' utile nel Pacifico dove gli stacking limits sono veramente un dolore. O forse erano destinate a fare da garrison all'India… Merda mi son scordato. Vedro' al prossimo turno cosa ebbi in mente quando le sbloccai.


2) Teatro Pacifico Sud-Occidentale

Individuo piccole TF alleate in giro fra Noumea e Figi. Non credo che si tratti di forze di invasione. Le CV americane sono sparite dalla vista comunque.
In tutto cio' il mio tentativo di attaccare Noumea coi midget sub rischia di finire in tragedia quando gli aerei in ASW dalla suddetta Noumea crivellano di colpi uno dei 3 sub mandati in missione. Dovrebbe riuscire a rientrare a Rabaul comunque.
Gli altri due proseguono la missione.

Varie TF si occupano di trasportare bestie e genti in giro. Decido di trasportare via da Rossel island una brigata di fanteria decisamente corposa (250AV) e di ridispiegarla in una posizione piu' arretrata. Mi e' infatti difficile rifornire la suddetta Rossel Island e gli sviluppi militari nella zona l'hanno resa una posizione secondaria.

Molte supplies giungono a Rabaul e molte altre sbarcheranno a breve.

Spedisco anche i primi reparti che difenderanno Tarawa. L'importante base e' stata difesa finora da una brigata di fanteria che e' urgentemente richiesta a Bihoro, Hokkaidó. Il fatto e' che e' un frammento della 30ma Divisione Fanteria che fra due mesi arriva e quindi preferisco ricomporre la divisione e mettere altre truppe a difendere l'atollo.


3) Teatro DEI

Alleato continua a bombardare le mie truppe a SUD di Darwin. Dovrei riuscire a mettere una pezza alla situazione dopo che sono stato recentemente sconfitto e costretto alla ritirata. La 3a Divisione Tank inizia la ritirata verso Darwin, da li andra' a Soerabaja o Singapore per un periodo di riposo.

Formo un grande convoglio di 50 xAK a Singapore e lo spedisco verso l'India dove sto inviando centinaia di mercantili per trasportare i milioni di supplies e resources del dolce subcontinente.

Presto provero' anche a spedire da Soerabaja a Singapore la CVE e la CS danneggiate a OVEST di Perth tempo addietro. Di sub nemici in zona non ce ne sono, ma le navi sono ridotte male assai.

Il blocco di Karachi continua e le navi alleate in porto decidono di tentare la sorte per sfuggire ai miei bombardamenti. Sub e bombardieri fanno scempio dei poveri diavoli:

I miei a/c decidono di non sweeppare Karachi ma un gruppo di Betty scortato pesantemente arriva nei cieli della citta' e piazza una bomba su una AS disbandata in porto. La CAP alleata e' vigorosa e la FlaK molesta come sempre.

I corazzati che erano stati inviati da Alleato verso l'area di Ahmedabad invece decidono di tornare indietro dopo che ieri ne avevo distrutti o danneggiati un centinaio con bombardamenti aerei a bassa quota. Ottimo.
Karachi e' decisamente presidiata, si parla di 60k fanti, 1,000 cannoni e un mezzo migliaio di veicoli. Sara' uno skontro tremendo.


Le flotte destinate a bombardare la citta' dovrebbero arrivare a Bombay domani. Perlomeno le prime unita'. Bombay non ha piu' fuel e non e' sufficientemente sviluppata per riarmare le BB, ma credo di poter risolvere a breve entrambe le questioni.

I primi bombardamenti saranno su Karachi, poi mi sposto su Socotra e infine inizio l'assalto finále.

Dovrei riuscire a sopraffarli a breve. A quel punto spero si ritirino verso Tienshui stessa cosicche' io possa accerchiare e distruggere tutte le truppe in questione.
Rinasceranno a Chungking assediata n un mesetto ma almeno non me li trovo fra le palle durante le fasi salienti della conquista della capitale nemica.

Intanto proseguo lo sbarco dell'artiglieria d'assedio ad Hong Kong. Molto bene.

Presumo di poterli affrontare con 'soli' 10,000AV giapponesi comunque. Per ora in citta' ho circa 5,000AV e altrettanti in giro in riposo o in operazioni secondarie.
Conto di iniziare a lavorarmi la citta' una volta che Karachi sara' caduta: mentre trasporto le forze dal Teatro Indiano a quello Cinese, faccio i primi assalti frontali alle fortificazioni di Chungking usando le truppe gia' presenti nell'area. Quando poi arrivano i rinforzi dall'India, parto con gli attacchi decisivi.

Roba cool e' che ho finito i motori per i Nate che quindi escono di produzione. Adesso ne ho 500 nei magazzini e un 200 che presto ci finiranno. Iddio solo sa cosa posso farmene di tutti sti Nate.
Due fabbriche di Tojo-IIc vengono espanse da 50 a 60 cosicche' io possa chiudere due fabbriche da 30 e destinarle ad altro. Ho quasi 600 Tojo-IIc in magazzino. Molto bene. Ancora lontano dal target di 2k ma mi ci avvicino a grandi falcate, complice il fatto che non li sto utilizzando in nessun modo.
Gli Oscar-IIa, prodotti in 200 esemplari al mese, sono invece relativamente pochi: 70 in magazzino. Le perdite in India si fanno sentire.

Purtroppo ho anche guai con gli A6M2-Zero. Ho una fabbrica da 100 spenta da tempo e non voglio riaccenderla a breve. Il problema e' che ho ancora molti reparti che usano i suddetti Zero e non ne ho abbastanza. Senza contare che la KB usa per meta' il nuovo e potente A6M8, ma per l'altra meta' il caro vecchio A6M2. La 2a Kido Butai presto fa uno stop a Singapore per refuel mentre va verso l'India e conto di fare l'upgrade ad A6M8 per alcuni dei gruppi imbarcati cosi da liberare ulteriori A6M2.

La situazione piloti per l'IJNAF e' tremenda e ho gia' finito la quota di replacements di Marzo. Molto male. Ho assolutamente da prendere i piloti piu' scarsi presenti nella riserva e far far loro un ulteriore giro di training. Per l'IJAAF sono soddisfatto della mia scelta di fare training estremamente base e poi spedire la gente al fronte, per l'IJNAF e' stata una sonora cazzata.

Malissimo lo stock di Helen-IIa (150 prodotti al mese e 4 in magazzino) ma bene quella di Nell (50 prodotti al mese e 140 in magazzino). Il resto e' grossomodo accettabile. Kate e Val in piccoli ma significativi numeri. Nick ok. Tony in ben 40 esemplari in stock (lo uso quasi zero ma voglio dargli una chance in una delle prossime campagne aeree). Thalia messi nuovmaente in produzione visto che ne ho sempre troppi pochi.
Mancano pure i Dinah-III nonostante ne produca 50 al mese.

Vista la follia del match sin dall'inizio e i suoi infiniti scontri e colpi di scena, mi sono reso conto che non avevo ottimizzato al 100% i convogli. Presumibilmente lo faro' piano piano nelle prossime settimane. Iddio sa perche', Stefano mi ha mandato un turno che avevamo gia' fatto e siamo ripartiti da li', ma amen: quando me ne sono accorto ero oramai a 4/5 del turno e sticazzi che mi ci rimettevo da capo.

Considerata la assoluta tranquillita' del match contro Patton, il massacro continuo di questo match e' allucinante.

Nulla di nuovo. Continuo a riorganizzare flotte mercantili varie ed eventuali.

La Tahio lascia Onshu alla volta di Truk dove si unira' alla 1a Kido Butai. Trasporta anche un gruppo di 36 A6M2-Zero come rinforzo per l'area.

Con sgomento mi accorgo che le HI in Hokkaido non stanno producendo perche' ho finito la benza: per fortuna un paio di TK da 8,150 capacity stanno caricando fuel a Kobe proprio per Onshu.


2) Teatro del Pacifico Sud-Occidentale

Un perfido sub americano mi affonda una xAK carica di supplies sulla rotta Truk-Rabaul.

Purtroppo passera' ancora un bel po' prima che io abbia sufficiente ASW in loco. Ho da trasferire AirSupport, FP e LB dalle retrovie.

Per ora, si subiscono le perdite che si devon subire... La 1a Kido Butai e' disbandata a Truk ma praticamente non ha aerei dato che son tutti stati massacrati negli scontri contro il flottone alleato che voleva sbarcare a Rabaul.

Poco il naviglio mercantile disponibile nell'area purtroppo. Credo che iniziero' a spedire piccole xAKL dalle DEI e xAK veloci da 18knts da India e madrepatria.

A Rabaul ho oltre 50.000 supplies, ma l'area e' abbastanza a secco. Rabaul stessa e' col punto esclamativo giallo.
Ho assolutamente da spedire sia supplies che truppe: sono circa 100.000 le supplies in arrivo dalle DEI e le truppe arriveranno da Onshu appena riesco a trovare dei trasporti liberi (o a convertire le xAK veloci da 18knts in xAK-t).

Ho anche da trovare il modo per evacuare le Louisiade. Non ho ancora un piano in mente, ma credo che usero' i DD in fast transport con l'ordine di pick-up. Il problema e' che dovro' abbandonare gran parte dell'equipaggiamento pesante.


3) Teatro DEI

Nulla di nuovo. Alleato bombarda le mie truppe in ritirata nel deserto.

Fatti upgrade a vari gruppi di FP a Singapore. Da li andranno verso la zona Rabaul-Truk a fare ASW. Ammesso non vengano affondati dai sub nemici lungo il tragitto, il che sarebbe un bel paradosso.

Oltre 125 le navi in riparazione a Singapore. Molte per pochi giorni solamente.


4) Teatro Indo-Birmano

Nulla di nuovo. Maltempo impedisce ogni azione aerea e sia sub che naviglio vario se ne stanno a riposo.

Deliberate in zona Tienshui che va abbastanza bene nonostante io abbia meno AV del nemico.

Sto intanto cercando di organizzare gli FP vista la situazione nefasta in fatto di sub alleati.

L'idea e' di disporre un bel po' di AMC e mine in varie isole chiave e, nel mentre, creare un corridoio da Onshu a Rabaul. Ho bisogno di molti Jake, tuttavia.
Il Jake e' l'idrovolante ideale perche' fa ben 10 hex in extended e quindi puo' coprire un bel po' di oceano in NavS. Vari gruppi di LB 2E si occuperanno poi delle missioni ASW propriamente dette: i Sally hanno range in extended di 12 che, diviso due a causa della missione ASW, fanno 6 hex netti. Non e' male, ma certo nemmeno bene se si considera che da Onshu a Rabaul ci sono circa 60-70 hex a seconda delle rotte che si usano.

La produzione di Jake, intanto, riprende a pieno ritmo. Ordinata la riapertura della fabbrica da 50 esemplari al mese e iniziata l'espansione per averne ben 70 al mese. Spero bastino per convertire quanti piu' gruppi possibili nel corso dei prossimi 2-3 mesi.

In tutto cio', inizio anche a fare una cernita delle unita' da disporre in giro per fornire AirSupport ai suddetti Jake (e Sally). Credo che usero' gli AF Coy da 8 air support per i gruppi di Jake in dot/basi minori. Invece per le basi maggiori usero' i JAAF Bn da ben 24 air support piu' radar e compagnia cantante.

La teoria e' di riuscire a creare un corridoio che da Tokio passa lungo le isolette a SUD di essa, poi arriva nelle Marianne e dalle Marianne passa lungo le Caroline fino a Truk.
Da Truk, invece, i convogli devono giocoforza andare grossomodo dritti per dritti verso Rabaul. La distanza minima da Truk all'area di Rabaul e' di 13 hex, troppi per coprirli bene con gruppi ASW. In compenso, dovrebbe essere abbastanza fattibile usare dei gruppi di Jake in NavS (10 hex) piu' un gruppo di Nell a lungo raggio in ASW (26 hex di range che diviso due fa 13). In alternativa posso sempre fare 6+6 coi Sally e avere un hex in cui non ho ASW e sticazzi.
Inoltre, ho da trovare le varie E e i vari DD con le DC serie e mandarli in loco per rompere il cazzo ai sub alleati. L'idea e' di avere un mix letale di NavS (diurna + notturna), aerei ASW e TF dedicate in ASW. Purtroppo, ho perso le CVE e quindi non posso creare una TF killer incentrata su una CVE a dare la caccia ai sub nemici. L'unica CVE disponibile e' malandata a Soerabaja e ne avra' per molto.

A fine giornata sono oltre 120 gli aerei persi dal Giappone contro i 79 alleati:



Domani, tempo permettendo, si prosegue.

Unica pecca e' che sto finendo gli Oscar-IIa. Ne ho infatti solo una trentina in magazzino. Vero che la produzione di circa 200 esemplari mensili mi aiuta, ma resta comunque che con questo tasso di perdite non vado lontano.

Da notare anche che Alleato continua a mandare aerei e TF a Karachi, segno che intende fare di tutto per difenderla. Io cerchero' ora di tenere soppresso l'AF e di affondare qualunque cosa mi si pari davanti, ma resta una faccenda complicata.

Continua la riorganizzazione dei convogli. Intanto, organizzo una mega spedizione di materiel da Onshu al Pacifico Meridionale.

Nulla di nuovo. Per ora.

Oggi nessun mercantile viene affondato, ma continuo ad essere in difficolta' nella lotta ASW. Inoltre, l'attuale mancanza di mercantili nell'area e' tragica.


3) Teatro DEI

Nulla di nuovo. Alleato bombarda come ogni giorno i miei fanti in ritirata verso Darwin.

Credo che gli faro' un'imboscata aerea con degli Oscar arrivati da Manila via Kendari. Nei prossimi giorni dovrei incrementare il totale di Oscar-IIa disponibili a 84.


4) Teatro Indo-Birmano

Alleato fugge coi mercantili che hanno finito di scaricare a Karachi e 2-3 vengono affondati dai miei sommergibili in agguato fuori dalla citta'.

Una TF di CL bombarda Karachi stessa facendo qualche danno agli a/c al suolo. Nulla di serio.

I miei sweep vanno praticamente a vuoto, mentre i miei bombardamenti sull'AF incontrano poca resistenza (ma fanno anche pochi danni).

A fine giornata sono circa 80 gli a/c persi dal Giappone e 50 dagli alleati. Dubito fortemente che Alleato possa reggere questo tasso di perdite nei cieli indiani ancora a lungo. Io, per contro, sono corto in fatto di fighter a lungo raggio (Oscar-IIa); ho infatti pieni i magazzini di Tojo-IIc che pero' hanno troppo poco range per ingaggiare sopra i cieli di Karachi.
