    Che fine farà l'altra CV che sta tentando la fuga? Una è disbandata a Nouméa. Una affondata tempo fa. Una affondata oggi.

    Una quarta però (credo la Saratoga) sta cercando la fuga. Ha fatto tipo 2-3 hex di movimento da Nouméa. Ce la farà o tornerà indietro a morire malamente?

    A breve ricevero' il primo turno del nuovo match dopo lunghissima attesa (e lavoro da parte del mio avversario) e quindi sono oramai col focus su altri ridenti lidi. Faro' un AAR come si deve sul forum matrix.

    Sono pero' giunto alla conclusione che:
    1. Fare le Filippine attualmente conviene se si vuole invadere l'India. Ho una timetable estremamente chiara per gran parte delle operazioni e, pur andando in questo match appositamente tranquillo, avevo comunque disponibilita' di circa 15 divisioni di fanteria per invadere l'India a fine Gennaio 1942. Cio' con Giava, Luzon e Singapore/Malesia mie (unici luoghi dove c'e' necessita' di livello divisionale).
    2. Luzon da' fortissimo slancio per l'India ma e' una palla al piede per altri teatri. In caso di offensiva nel Pacifico e' una rottura di coglioni fare le Filippine per il banale motivo che e' piu' ragionevole muovere en masse su Singapore e direttamente sulle Celebes/Molucche per supportare una fine rapida ed indolore di Giava. Cio', lasciando al medesimo momento le truppe per un impegno solido nel Pacifico.
    3. Australia: cambia poco punto. NZ: vedi punto 2.
    4. Non ho considerato la simpatica teoria del fermarsi allo storico e mandare millemila divisioni unrestricted in Cina per chiudere il match in loco al volo. Credo che contro un avversario di alto livello sia una cosa da ponderare accuratamente pero', ma non ho fatto il calcolo, nemmeno a spanne, dei tradeoff con altre azioni (tipo invadere Celyon)
    5. Nello specifico di questo match, sapevo fosse opportuno mandare ogni portaerei minore nel SoPac visto che Kaiser ha sempre dato un'attenzione sorprendente alla Nuova Caledonia sia contro Blizzard che contro Ciotto (unici AAR suoi che ho letto attentamente) e che lo vedevo troppo sicuro di se' e dunque prono ad ingaggiare a caso; quindi, ho deciso fosse opportuno mandare ogni portarei in loco lasciando solo una CVE a coprire i movimenti nelle DEI. Retrospettivamente, avrei potuto lasciare un paio di CVE/CVL in piu' nelle DEI senza avere impatto alcuno nel SoPac. Molto rilevante per andare piu' rapidi nelle conquiste minori nelle DEI una volta che il grosso della flotta e' in altri luoghi. Sapere dove sono le CV USA, anche a spanne, aiuta chiaramente nel distribuire le proprie forze. Col raid su Tokio ho immaginato correttamente le CV USA rimanessero nel Pacifico e quindi non ho avuto necessita' di particolari precauzioni in termini di NavS nelle DEI, semplificandomi molto la vita. Ho preso Cocos Island solo pochi turni fa ad esempio e non ho preso nessuna isola fra Timor e Giava, come invece faccio solitamente per avere NavS in copertura su approcci verso Giava da parte delle CV USA.
    6. L'approccio indiretto e tardo ai pozzi si conferma vincente. Ho peccato di prudenza prendendo Palembang subito ed ho avuto una dozzina di punti OIL danneggiati dagli a/c alleati. Ci guadagno comunque in termini di benza/supplies rispetto al catturare Palembang tardi come mio solito, ma mi urta particolarmente dover dedicare asset aerei a Palembang. Meglio prendere il posto piu' tardi: Singapore cade in ogni caso se affrontata in modo opportuno.
    7. Molto meglio optare per un Luzon-first che un Singapore-first. Meglio cioe' dedicare risorse in eccesso a Luzon che a Singapore, anche se si corre il rischio di catturare la suddetta Singapore con una settimana di ritardo rispetto ad un'operazione che fila via perfetta. Il motivo: le truppe di Luzon hanno sicuramente un fracco di casualties e quindi e' meglio andarci giu' pesanti. Inoltre, cosi facendo si puo' dar loro piu' tempo per riprendersi prima delle operazioni seguenti. In ogni caso si puo' passare dallo Stretto di Sonda per invadere l'India e quindi no problema.
    8. La deadline per invadere l'India serenamente (ultima settimana di Gennaio 1942), e' facilissima da rispettare anche prendendo le Filippine.
    9. Un'azione alleata decisa ed assennata in India e' fattibile, ma oggettivamente con le Filippine prese diventa piu' difficile fare ogni cosa dato che i giapponesi non hanno ad un certo punto da fermarsi e tornare indietro. In sostanza, Luzon attualmente aiuta la campagna indiana (cio' supponendo non si possa piegare Luzon con truppe provenienti da altri teatri).
    10. Ho investito eccessivamente su Giava cosi tanto per ridere, ma, volendo essere ragionevoli, la situazione ottimale e' usare un paio di migliaia di AV da Luzon su Giava (bastano ed avanzano) mentre gli altri 1.500AV circa disponibili prendono e muovono diretti nel SoPac in caso si voglia fare una campagna in loco. Io ho esagerato sapendo di esagerare a Giava, ma sono persuaso che 1.500AV nel SoPac siano piu' che sufficienti a piegare la resistenza alleata perlomeno nel N-E Australia. In caso uno voglia andar li chiaramente.
    11. In generale, facendo le Filippine, sconsiglio di fare campagne nel SoPac e consiglio invece un'offensiva in massa in India. In caso uno per qualche oscura ragione sia obbligato ad andare nel SoPac (nel mio caso per complicarmi intenzionalmente la vita......), credo sia opportuno muovere sul N-E Australia invece che su Suva/Figi, visto che comunque da giapponese puoi facilissimamente isolare tali posizioni e massacrarvi qualunque rinforzo portato da Alleato. O addirittura, tendere trappoloni varie agli americani. Questa postura prevede di non conquistare l'Australia sotto l'attivazione dei rinforzi di emergenza (quindi tenersi da Birsbane in su). In caso uno volesse prendere tutta l'Australia, invece, e' meglio evitare tout court la Nuova Caledonia e sviluppare piccole basi li intorno: Noumea ed i rinforzi alleati in loco possiamo massacrarli piu' in la' nel corso del '42. Suva e' un must assoluto.
    12. Meglio lasciar perdere Bataan una volta che Manila e Clark sono cadute. In teoria anche Clark e' del tutto superflua, basta entrare da ogni lato dell'hex e lasciarvi marcire le truppe alleate. Con relativamente pochi AV si tengono a bada i superstiti ed e' anche un buon luogo dove 'investire' i bomber 1E imperiali: fanno consumare un fracco di supplies ai difensori e gli aerei abbattuti sono complessivamente ok-ish visto che abbiamo un congruo numero di truppe nell'hex e recuperiamo tanti piloti. Come eventuale porto possiamo usare la base con port lvl3 a S-W di Manila.




    EDIT:
    Non so se l'immagine e' troppo piccola, ma in ogni caso si vede bene come la timetable definita prima dello start sia fin qui andata benone con grandissima parte dei target raggiunti con larghissimo anticipo.
    Le divisioni dedicate a ciascun obbiettivo sono diverse da quelle effettivamente ingaggiate per tale obbiettivo per motivi di opportunita' operazionale (p.ex. la 55th Infantry Division e' adesso a Burma), ma l'allocazione numerica per teatro grossomodo identica.
    Sono in ritardo per Noumea, visto che l'ho trovata rafforzata e, pensando ci fossero piu' truppe nemiche, ho deciso di splittare l'invasione e prendere Suva velocemente con una delle due divisoni e lasciare l'altra allocata per la Nuova Caledonia a fare un assalto esplorativo. Le due divisioni per Suva non le ho manco imbarcate.
    Ho mancato, non inclusa in questo screenshot, la campagna nelle Aleutine, visto che ho cambiato idea in corso d'opera. La cosa e' ottima in definitiva visto l'affondamento delle CV USA e quindi inutilita' di tale campagna.
    Last, but not least, ho cancellato i nomi delle operazioni prossime venture per mantenere un minimo di OPSEC.

    Con l'affondamento delle 4 CV USA, ad occhio, fino a Marzo 1944 incluso (arrivo della CV Franklin, Essex-Class) ho circa il doppio di aerei imbarcati alleati (1.100ca VS 580ca). CVE alleate escluse dal conteggio, ma CVE giapponesi incluse (cosa ragionevole visto un impiego difensivo delle portaerei imperiali).
    Escludo le CVE perche' considero fino al '44 si compensino con gli aerei basati a terra. Inoltre, fattore non indifferente, sono davvero poco adatte ad impieghi di flotta: pochi aerei per fare strike vari, poca AA, pochissima resistenza ai danni, etcetc.

    Ground losses confermano l'affondamento della Saratoga. L'ultima CV alleata ancora a galla, l'Enterprise, e' ancora disbandata a Noumea. Credo abbia floating damage abbastanza alto e non possa facilmente muoversi. Non che sia una grande idea comunque visto che due CV su due che hanno tentato una sortita sono venute giu'.

    Interessante anche l'affondamento di altri due CA. I CA alleati sono una piaga per tutta la durata della guerra: piu' ne vanno giu' e meglio e'.


    In tutto cio', finora ho perso:
    • 2 CA: entrambi contro la Force Z, uno purtroppo per magazine explosion e non ci potevo far nulla.
    • 1 CL: il buon vecchio Yubari, CL totalmente inutile visto che ne' fa upgrade a CLAA ne' trasporta vagonate di long lance.
    • 11 DD: una buona meta' a causa delle mine ed un paio per attacchi aerei; 7-8 di essi sono di vecchissime classi pressoche' inutili tipo i Momi-Class costruiti nel 1918 ed altri ferrivecchi simili che fanno o upgrade a E o ad APD; i 3-4 DD moderni affondati sono molto seccanti ma tant'e'.

    Merchant Fleet:
    • TK: ho perso due TK buone scioccamente a SUD di Tokio quando Kaiser ha fatto il raid sul posto; pensavo i Betty/Nell a Tokio avrebbero fatto uno strike e massacrato ogni cosa e non mi ero curato di modificare la rotta delle TK. Non mi pare di averne perse altre.
    • AO: credo di averne perse 3, di cui almeno una buona; tutte nell'area di Noumea mentre rifornivo SCTF o la KB; ottimo investimento considerata la fine delle CV americane nel settore.
    • xAK/xAKL: sono infinite e ne ho ancora a centinaia, letteralmente, a Tokio e altri ameni luoghi; purtroppo lameno la perdita di una Std-D che fa conversione a TK a Giugno 1942; produco dozzine di Std-A/B/C/D/E nel solo 1942, quindi tant'e' ma secca comunque visto che le TK piccole sono utilissime per muovere FUEL/OIL dalle varie location delle DEI (che hanno porti piccoli) a Singapore.
    • Altro: niente di che, giusto due AV perse con gli FP a bordo e che mi e' toccato ricomprare. C'e' grande disponibilita' di AV lato imperiale comunque.

    Sì, l'idea è di andare io Alleato e lui Giapponese e vedere come va. Se per qualche motivo il match dovesse finire in tempi ragionevoli, ci scambiamo i ruoli.

    Come alleato sono decisamente green, visto che i miei giapponesi si sono sempre arresi prima di Gennaio '42. Ho un po' di esperienza late game col match contro Blizzard ma è abbastanza modesta come cosa e la situazione assai particolare.

    Credo sarà un match molto interessante. Il 7 Dicembre mi ha brasato sia Manila che PH (a PH un disastro totale...) ed è sbarcato a Kuching (con AirHQ e genieri), Rabaul (cadrà il prossimo turno), Wake, Midway e Manado.
    Sono poco convinto dello sbarco a Midway, posto non voglia muovere su Aleutine (e poi Alaska e Canada) o Hawaii.

    Lo sbarco a Kuching è ottimo (AF lvl=3) perché protetta da bombardamenti navali; ci metterà un milione di Zero e di Betty.

    Manado ordinaria amministrazione.

    Credo che lo sbarco in forze a Manado (12.000 fanti a terra) sia il preludio ad un movimento su Giava molto rapido, mentre Kuching è uno sbarco passivo-aggressivo: tiene in controllo l'area con Zero e Betty, ma se c'è sbarcato significa che non prevede una caduta di Singapore a brevissimo.
    Rabaul immediata, con Midway associata, significa plausibilmente un impegno molto veloce nel SoPac.
    Le alternative sono due: o vuole muovere nel SoPac in forze e quindi si mette subito nella posizione per farlo, oppure vuole prendere quel che vuol prendere subito e poi dimenticarsi del settore. Credo sia la prima, visto che non ha fatto il Mersing Gambit ed è sbarcato a Kuching. L'attacco a PH confermerebbe tale ipotesi fra l'altro.

    Vedremo che mosse fa nella prossima settimana. Sono decisamente inclinato a credere farà uno sbarco gigante a Luzon mentre muove a SUD di Manado verso Kendari-Ambon. Nel mentre sicuramente muove nel SoPac. L'idea di base è sfondare a SUD di Manado e nel SoPac per essere poi pronti a muovere su Perth e NZ/Australia Orientale. Così facendo si metterebbe in un'ottima posizione per sfasciare Perth, prendere la NZ e poter bombardare l'Australia facendo un fracco di VP. Non so bene come contrastare tale mossa, ma ci sto pensando.
    Giava cadrà a breve.
    Questa postura, unita all'HR per cui i Thai se ne stanno in Thailandia, potrebbe darmi tempo in Burma, il settore di gran lunga strategicamente più rilevante per il sottoscritto.

    Chiaro che è anche possibile sfondi nelle DEI e passi dallo Stretto di Sonda per muovere sull'India, ma lo troverei molto molto bislacco. Credo intenda muovere su Australia e SoPac. Vedrò a breve come muove nelle DEI&co: se impegna Luzon è molto probabile non riesca a prendere l'Australia velocemente per motivi prettamente legati al tempo necessario a catturare la suddetta Luzon e poi trasferire le LCU in Australia.

    Il grande dubbio per me è dove spedire i rinforzi inglesi che partono imbarcati. Credo che, sorprendentemente, li dirotterò su Perth. L'India l'abbiamo conquistata entrambi in uno Scen01 e quindi siamo esperti del teatro: penso di potermi permettere di rinunciare a tali preziose truppe.

    I principali rinforzi disponibili sono già in mare e sono le unità britanniche indirizzate a Singers Birmania e Dei.
    Quelle non fa in tempo a bloccarle.
    Per tutto il resto potresti dover giocare a rimpiattino per farle arrivare a destinazione sane se punta al sopac

    Beh ci sono tutti gli amici americani anche. Il problema è capire come farli arrivare. Se passo da Cape Town ho un ritardo notevole ma è fattibile dirottarli in India.
    Se passo da Pacifico arrivano prima, ma è più dura farli poi arrivare eventualmente in India.

    Scelte complesse insomma.

    Credo che passerò dal Pacifico per la semplice ragione che, in caso di assalto all'India, avrei comunque da portarvi i rinforzi iniziali Commonwealth e gli australiani quindi tanto vale mandarci anche gli americani ed organizzare la copertura per un solo passaggio di tutti quanti da Melbourne al bordo mappa a OVEST.

    Il problema di ciò è che DesertWolf è molto bravo ad interpretare il SigInt giapponese, interpretazione del quale è più vicino all'arte che alla scienza, e c'è il rischio concretissimo che riesca a capire la mia mossa in tempo per intercettarmi. Motivo per cui avrei da scortare pesantemente il passaggio verso OVEST e usare Melbourne, porto che non dovrebbe dare eccessivi sospetti in termini di SigInt (a differenza di mettiamo Adelaide, Port Augusta o, figuriamoci, Perth).



    Il problema è fare ciò e, al tempo stesso, riuscire ad avere i PP per muovere i cinesi in India e gli indiani in Cina, che sono le mie priorità.

    Molti Usa sono R e proprio in previsione dello scambio tra cinesi e indiani costoso in termini di PP ti ho suggerito le altre unità velocemente disponibili anche se la 7 birg. Arm. è sempre manna per i cinesi
    Non ho ancora letto AAR di DesertWolf per cui non ho idea del suo stile di gioco.
